Be here. All of it is worth it.

I've thought a lot about what I actually do for a living. And the honest answer is that taking photos is only part of it.

What I really care about is presence. Being here, fully, in the moments that matter. Not just on your wedding day, but with each other, with the people you love, with the life you're building together. Those moments go fast. Most of us spend them half distracted, half somewhere else.

My job is to slow that down. To help you actually feel what's happening while it's happening. The photos are how we make sure you can come back to it.

That's the kind of photographer I set out to be. Not the one who shows up, gets the shots, and leaves. The one who makes sure you were there for all of it.

More than photos.
More than a wedding day.

A few years later, I was a guest at my stepsister Melissa's wedding. The energy was high, everyone was present, and it was genuinely one of those days. Then the photographer left early, gave almost no direction, and the final images missed the whole thing.

There was one photo from that day that meant everything to me, though. A simple selfie of my Nanny and me, both of us happy and carefree. She has since passed away, and that photo is one of the few that takes me right back to that day with her. It taught me how precious these moments are, especially the ones you don't plan for.

That's when I understood what wedding photography is really for.

It started with a hernia. I was in my early twenties, convinced I was going to be a chef someday, when I needed a minor surgery at a clinic in Toronto. The morning before I went in, someone helpfully mentioned they knew a guy who had died during that exact procedure. He left out the part about the guy being elderly. So I showed up nervous, grabbed my mom's point-and-shoot camera, and spent the morning wandering around the clinic estate taking photos to distract myself.
I wasn't very good. But something clicked. That curiosity grew into a real skill, and eventually into a career I wouldn't trade for anything.

I didn't plan on becoming
a wedding photographer.
